Online gamblers in Spain will be thrilled to know that they will soon be able to play Yggdrasil casino games. The brilliant software provider and existing partner, GVC have agreed to collaborate on the venture into the Spanish gaming market.
This move will see GVC make history as the first operator to run Yggdrasil casino games in the Spanish market. In fact, Head of Content at GVC, Andrew Whitworth said they were: “not going to pass up the opportunity to be the first operator to bring Yggdrasil’s slots to Spain, and we are certain they will perform strongly in the market.”
GVC’s Bwin brand already has a solid gaming presence in Spain
To mark the venture into Spain’s online market, the company revealed a new logo. The new logo still resembles the Yggdrasil tree from Norse myth; in keeping with the meaning behind the company’s name.
Entry into Spain and the Spanish Gaming Environment
The entry into the Spanish market comes hot on the heels of two major moves into Italy and Denmark. With the entry into Spain, the company has strengthened their footprint in the European market.
In fact, the online gaming market in Spain has become more appealing to casino operators; this is a direct result of the annual growth. The growth was attributed to the launch of online slots in 2015.
According to Yggdrasil’s CEO, Fredrik Elmqvist, “Spain has quickly emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing and exciting jurisdictions, making it a perfect environment for Yggdrasil’s award-winning slots and promotional tools.”
On the topic of awards, the company was named Innovator Supplier of Year at the recent IGA’s. However, the company is not a new name at the IGA’s and has won several awards over the years.
GVC is set to release the games in the first quarter of 2018, so keep it locked to our blog page for updates.
